Featured Voyage: Across the Bay of Biscay — Earn Your ASA 105 & 106
Portsmouth, England → Las Palmas, Gran Canaria | Oct 17 – Nov 6, 2026 | 1,600 nautical miles
This is the one we're most excited about. Join Panexplore aboard SV Sea Dragon for a 21-day offshore passage that starts in England, crosses the notoriously lively Bay of Biscay, and pushes south through the open North Atlantic to the Canary Islands. It's real ocean sailing — extended watches, night navigation, and the kind of open-water conditions that build genuine offshore confidence.
Our own Captain Dasiel will be aboard, teaching and certifying ASA 105 (Coastal Navigation) and ASA 106 (Advanced Coastal Cruising) throughout the voyage — so you can turn sea miles into real, internationally recognized certifications while crossing an ocean.
ASA 105 – Coastal Navigation: Chart work, compass and dead reckoning skills, tides, currents, and aids to navigation — the foundation for navigating any coastline with confidence.
ASA 106 – Advanced Coastal Cruising: Builds directly on 105, developing the sail trim, weather routing, and emergency-procedure skills needed for extended, multi-day passages — day or night. (Requires ASA 101, 103, 104 and 105; 105 and 106 can be completed together on this trip.)
Berths are limited, so if you'd like to certify while aboard, let Panexplore know once your deposit is in.
Trip cost: $6,690 (includes accommodation, meals, safety gear, and instruction — see Panexplore's site for full inclusions)
Certification fee: A separate ASA registration fee applies per certification — ask us or Panexplore for current pricing.
